A Group, Bringing Together Owners, Trainers, Breeders, and Fans of Working and Sporting Goats.

The American Working and Sporting Goat Association facebook group was founded at the beginning of 2022, with the goal of creating an inclusive cross-disciplinary platform for goat trainers to share ideas, and swap tips and tricks. AWSGA members participate in a wide variety of caprine activities, including driving, draft work, packing, agility, and trick training.

A Showcase for Every Goat

Each summer, the AWSGA hosts a series of open digital shows, including a jumping competition, an in-hand course, a turnout event, a trick performance event, and a working ranch goat event. The events are offered through the AWSGA Shows facebook page, and are open to all breeds of goats, and both local and international entries.

Celebrating the Unique Heritage of Working Goats

For thousands of years, goats have aided their human companions by carrying packs, pulling small vehicles, and helping with farm work. The American Working and Sporting Goat Association proudly celebrates the rich history of goats in harness, and under saddle; both in the USA, and abroad.
