A Goatback Ride in France

This portrait of the Comte d’Artois and His Sister, Clotilde, riding their pet goat, was painted by François-Hubert Drouais (1727-1775), in 1763. Notice, the young Comte d’Artois holding some tasty vegetation to help encourage the good-natured goat’s cooperation. The painting currently resides in the Musée du Louvre, Paris. France.

Royal Goat Carriage from France

This finely detailed goat carriage was built for the Dauphin Louis XVII, when he was a baby. The carriage is on display in the guard room of the Versailles palace.
